Fresnaye is situated on the slopes of Lion's Head, Table Mountain in Cape. It is well known for its sea and mountain views, proximity to white sandy beaches and easy access to Cape Town’s city centre. Fresnaye is only five minutes from the main attractions of Cape Town.

Fresnaye exists in a windless corner of the Cape, surrounded by the Cape Peninsula National Park and below the noon gun at Signal Hill. The sweeping views of Fresnaye enable the guest to step out of their room and into paradise. Most Fresnaye guesthouses and hotels offer balconies to make use of the views of the Atlantic Seaboard, Table Bay, and Robben Island.

Fresnaye's choice position on the mountain, the fact that it is sheltered from the notorious south-easterly and its easy access to Cape Town has produced some of the most expensive real estate along the Atlantic Seaboard.

The trendy Atlantic beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton are literally just up the road, within walking distance, and hanging out on one of Clifton’s four beaches, separated by granite boulders, or the long palm-lined stretch of sand that has made Camps Bay so popular amongst the jet set crowd, is a major draw card to the area.

Fresnaye is close to a number of walks and climbs in the surrounding Table Mountain, Devil's Peak, Lion's Head and Twelve Apostles ranges. The elegant neighbourhood is also within easy reach of Camps Bay and Clifton's beaches - popular with surfers and sun seekers, although the cold Atlantic current can make swimming uncomfortable, but doesn't appear to hinder anyone's enjoyment.
